A brief history...
Oakville Vineyard Bed & Breakfast was originally a working farm owned by the Money family. At one time, 20 mules occupied its large barn -- the largest remaining in the Napa Valley. The farm was later sold to the Hoyt family, and then purchased by Christian Brothers Winery before being sold to the Gmelch family which has owned the property since 1970.
The property lies in the middle of the Oakville viticultural (or appellation) district which covers about 5,000 acres and represents about 14 percent of Napa Valley's total plantings. Most vineyards in Oakville District are planted in the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.
Oakville Vineyard B&B is a traveler's dream -- historic, scenic and peaceful.
